Australian Investment Property
If you own an Australian Rental Property and you are a NZ Tax Resident, you have the following obligations:
- Incorporate your Australian rental profit or loss into your NZ tax return, and
- Incorporate your Australian rental Profit or loss into your Australian tax return
- If you have a mortgage with an Australian Bank or Finance Company relating to your Australian rental property you may be subject to Non-Resident Withholding Tax (NRWT) and/or Approved Issuer Levy Status (AIL)
